As enjoyable and fun as the Christmas season can be, it can also be extremely stressful. One of the quickest ways to add stress and problems to our lives is to not get enough rest.

Our bodies need 7-9 hours of sleep each night to function properly. In addition to sleep, we also need one day a week of rest and recovery.

Not getting enough rest causes our bodies to live in a stressful state. This stressful state leads to increased weight gain, decreased mental performance, increased emotional instability and spiritual burnout.

Needless to say this leads to an inability to perform our daily activities to the best of our ability.

I know this time of year is extremely busy, but make sure getting enough “rest” is high on the daily to-do list.
